Autumn Song

"Autumn Song "  [SOLD]

Like a joy on the heart of a sorrow,
   The sunset hangs on a cloud;
A golden storm of glittering sheaves,
Of fair and frail and fluttering leaves,
The wild wind blows in a cloud.

Hark to a voice that is calling
To my heart in the voice of the wind:
My heart is weary and sad and alone,
For its dreams like the fluttering leaves have gone,
And why should I stay behind?

Hope is the thing with feathers

Water color on paper

"Hope" is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops—at all

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm

I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest Sea
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

Malala the brave girl

Watercolor on paper

" I said to my self,
Malala you must be brave,
you must not be afraid of anyone,
You are only trying to get education.
You are not committing crime"
~ Malala

Malala the bravest girl. I am reading the book "I am Malal" and I came to know more about her. She is such a brave and inspiring girl.

Phenomenal Woman

Title : Phenomenal Woman
Medium : Watercolor on paper
Size : 14x11 inches

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
      ~ Maya Angelou

This painting is inspired from poem "Phenomenal Woman" by Maya Angelou. I love her poems, they represents the hope, pride and confident of a woman.

Norah Jones

Graphite , charcoal and white color pencil
grey paper

Few days back I brought one scrapbook, which has many colored pages. I choose grey one to do this sketch. Usually I take more time to do pencil sketch, but for this I took less because I used charcoal for hair, eye which usually takes more time if I do it using graphite pencils. And also I did very little work on skin as this is paper itself if grey :) I had fun doing this.

Thanks for visiting!!!

Even if they do not tell but we can understand from there facial expression. I planned to do some pencil sketch experiments on facial expressions of kids.

A Conceit

A Conceit
Size: 11x15 inch
Water color on paper

Give me your hand
Make room for me
to lead and follow you
beyond this rage of poetry.
Let others have
the privacy of
touching words
and love of loss of love.
For me
Give me your hand.

Happy friendship day to all of my dear friends. Thanks for being with me and for all your support.

Childhood painting I have done from a photo reference of my cousin and niece. I am not satisfied with my work on that but still I want to share it because I have a lovable memory with that. When I was child I  also used to enjoy the same thing. It reminds me of my childhood.

I have never done any painting of street. From long time I was planning to do the same , but never  got courage to start. First time I  have tried this. This also did not came out good. I have to do more practice on it. I have to work more on light, shadow and projections. Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated :-)
