Photo reference: @malaypatra2507 thanks for allowing to paint.

I have tried multiple times to paint the distance hills. Every time I feel its not good or its better to say not as i expected. Finally for this I am really happy. In watercolour its not guarantee that once you achieve this every time you are going to get the same result. And thats the beauty of water colour. But I believe if you keep on trying/doing something daily, you will improve on it.

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Kartika Purnima

Kartika purnima

I have done this on the occasion of Kartika purnima festival.

Kartik Purnima is a Hindu holy day celebrated on the full moon day or the fifteenth lunar day of Kartika.
Kartika is considered to be the holiest month of the Hindu calendar. Devotees celebrated the Boita Bandana ceremony (boat worshiping ceremony). The day signifies an age-old tradition that is observed in the memory of those ancestor sailors who left for distant lands from Odisha.

This is a showpiece for tourists but also a lifeline for fishermen.

Odissi

Odissi
13x19 inches
Water color on paper

This ia little challenging for me. I used a different paper. Before I did three paintings using this paper. But I was not satisfied with the result. This is the first time I am satisfied with the outcome.

Odissi is the traditional style of dance which originated in the temples of the state of Odisha in Eastern India, where it was performed by the devadasi for Lord Jaganath.

One of the most characteristic features of Odissi dance is the Tribhangi. The concept of Tribhangi divides the body into three parts, head, bust, and torso. Any posture which deals with these three elements is called Tribhangi. This concept has created the very characteristic poses which are more contorted than found in other classical Indian dances.

Mudra is also an important of Odissi dance. It is a hand position which suggests things.  The use of mudras help tell a story.
